31 January 2004 - 4:57 pm I love rainy weather. It�s been raining on and off all day yesterday and, so far, all day today. Not torrential downpours, rather light rain that soaks the ground and gives the leaves a nice wet sheen. We have the sliding glass doors opened since it�s still very nice out despite the wet weather. I can hear the rain on the patio bricks and the sound of the cars going by in the puddle filled road. It�s very soothing and relaxing. A nice way to spend a Saturday � just watching and listening to the rain. While everything here is generally green, green, green the rain makes that green even more defined, more noticeable against the dark earth, the blackish-brown trunks of the trees, and the darkened wood of the fence that surrounds our house. We live quite isolated from the rest of the world as our back yard is a lush, tropical paradise. Honestly it�s quite breathtaking for this former North Carolina resident. We never had such splendid foliage in quite this abundance. So this is how I plan to spend the rest of the evening, just relaxing.
